The Royal Albatross is the world's largest flying bird. It's wingspan can reach up to 3.5 meters. Amazing! This bird is a definately a unique one. After just 8 months since hatching, it leaves its nest and does not return for 5 years. Once it returns, it breeds with one mate for the rest of its life, only one egg is laid each year. In this period of time, it does not touch land even once. Therefore it is "air-bound" for most of its life. The two main species out of the twenty-one focused on are the Northern Royal Albatross and the Southern Royal Albatross, and their vision.
